things I have learned from various therapies:
we hold a lot of feelings in our ribcages
we hold a lot of feelings in our pelvic floors
we hold a lot of feelings in our shoulders
no matter where in our bodies we feel pain, we hold a lot of feelings in our asses
none of this information kept me from the emergency room last night, where I learned that a wrongheaded attitude toward addicts and addiction prevents people with chronic conditions – people like me – from receiving fair treatment when their illnesses ever flare up outside of normal doctors’ hours. this is certainly okay, and definitely how a reasonable country should treat its people.
